Why do I run?

I love trying to answer this question

Because I don't think I will ever

Completely know

It has something to do

With my need to feel

Movement, pain, exhaustion

Rest, calm and self-awareness

It's a physically induced

Mind full meditation

Focused by some wordless mantra

Floating on an aerobic threshold

A rhythmic sweet spot

Between Earth's gravity

And a weightless

Instant in time

Sometimes I hear it

As an unlonely melody

More often I enjoy it

As a howling chorus
